Getting Ready for Closing Day
Closing on the Home
It is important to ensure a clear title of the home and this can be proven in the public records of the local courthouse in your area. Closing on the home is a process where all paperwork is signed and the process for purchasing a home is completed. This will include signing necessary documentation for insurance, taxes, title transfers and mortgage loans. You will also have to pay closing costs that will include legal fees, down payments and taxes. Typically both buyer and seller are present at the closing though it is not always necessary.
All paperwork will be signed and all payments recorded. The seller is paid the amount owed which is the sale price less any existing mortgages and fees. The title is transferred from buyer to seller and paperwork is processed to be filed with the property records. The closing is a rather involved process but it usually is pretty easy as all the steps have been taken prior to attending.
