Ulster County Real Estate features Holiday Events, Santa & More!

Whether you consider yourself a Scrooge, a Grinch or a Clark Griswald, chances are you’ll find yourself in the holiday spirit at some point this season.  Cutting down your own Christmas tree, taking a photo with Santa or attending a performance of the Nutcracker may be your family tradition or yearly ritual.  Ulster County with its wide variety of hamlets and towns, provides plenty of holiday events to choose from.  Here is a sampling of some of the events and a list of places you can cut down your own one-of-a-kind Christmas tree:

Events:

Take a Train Ride with Santa on the Catskill Mountain Railroad, Westbrook Lane, Kingston on December 11-12, 18-19, 1PM, 2PM, 3PM & 4PM, other holiday train rides available as well.

Catskill Ballet Performs the Nutcracker at UPAC (Ulster Performing Arts Center, Broadway, Kingston), December 10th

Uptown Kingston Holiday Open House with Santa  Uptown business on Wall Street and North Front Street on December 10th from 5-8PM, stockings given out to first 500, horse drawn carriage rides available, businesses providing hot cider, cookies, candy canes, etc., see Santa at the corner of Wall and North Front Streets, stop at Murphy Realty Group for a candy cane!

Christmas at the Deyo House  on December 11th, a candlelit tour of beautifully decorated historic home on Huguenot Street in New Paltz, 255-1660

Living Nativity at Old Dutch Church  December 20-21, 6:30, 7:00 & 7:30 PM at the Old Dutch Church corner of Wall and Main Streets in Uptown Kingston, stable with live animals

Festival of Lights on December 20, starting at 12PM at Belleayre Mountain, 254-5600

Santa Arrives in Woodstock every Christmas eve. after sunset Santa arrives in grand style at the Woodstock Village Green, stockings provided to attending children, vehicle traffic closed off on Tinker Street during the event
