Ulster County offers quite a few options when it comes to finding things to do…..Bored?? Not here, we have something for everyone form the Hudson River to the Catskill Mountains. Ulster County is a year around playground for children & adults of all ages, and no matter your preference, I promise you will find something to do.
From hiking to biking to fishing, kayaking, hunting, Art receptions to festivals, farmer’s markets, music festivals, arts & crafts shows. Annual events such as the Ulster County Fair, Kingston’s Soap Box Derby, HITS on the Hudson, with a special Pfizer $1 Million Grand Prize with a special John Fogerty Concert this year in September. Jazz festivals, blueberry & wild berry festivals, corn festivals, Old Stone House Day in Historic Hurley, I think that the only problem is trying to figure out what you want to do first. Street festivals that last the entire weekend with some of the best bands of the Hudson Valley that perform.
There really is so much to do in addition to the everyday normal activities such as local libraries, Forsyth Nature Park, where you can feed the animals, phenomenal restaurants & pubs, not to mention an award winning brewery Keegan Ales. Some of the local colleges to name a few are Bard College, Marist, Suny New Paltz, & The Culinary Institute of America.
Still not sold, how about have you ever wanted to learn to fly an airplane? Well you can do so here at the local airport, and if that doesn’t entice you, what about jumping out of one? We have that too! That ought to fulfill one of your life’s greatest challenges.
Well you say…”what about winter?” Ulster County offers some of the most amazing downhill skiing & cross county on the east coast. We also offer great ice skating rinks or if you prefer we also have roller skating if ice is not your thing. Not good enough? What if I told you that we also have a brand new indoor water park that is perfect for the entire family? Oh and one more thing, aside from having the #1 Haunted Hayride in the U.S., they also offer a frosty fest kids just adore.
