Ulster County Real Estate – Halloween Safety Tips

Halloween is tomorrow and being a parent, I just wanted to share a few tips on Trick or Treating safety.

2. Stay with a group, and walk slowly & communicate where you are going.
3. Only trick or treat in well known neighborhoods at homes that have a porch light on.
4. Remain on well-lit street and always use the sidewalk when applicable
5. Never cut across yards or use alleys

6. Never enter a stranger’s home or car for a treat, or you might get tricked.
7. Obey all traffic and pedestrian regulations

Ulster County Real EstateFall in Ulster County & around the Hudson Valley - Here we are again -The cool crisp air, football games, and the anticipation of our first deep freeze! Is there anywhere more beautiful than looking out on the Hudson River during a fall afternoon?

I did just that last Sunday, I had the most amazing open house, for hours I watched a beautiful sailboat race, tugs up and down the Hudson and the Barges, amazing to watch!

Ulster County Real Estate - Showcase Your Kitchen

My favorite place in the home is the kitchen and as a real estate agent in Ulster County I get to see many. There are cheap and easy things to do to showcase your kitchen without spending a lot of money. Here are some simple tips:
1) Clean out and organize the kitchen drawers, cabinets and pantry. Buyers like peeking to make sure there's enough space.
2) Clear off the counters and store away the counter appliances. If your counter tops have seen better days, replace it with a new laminate counter top.
3) Put a fresh coat of neutral paint on the walls to give the kitchen a brighter and cleaner look.
4) If your cabinets are outdated, try sanding then staining or painting them. It will make them look newer

Ulster County Real Estate: 22nd Anniversary Of The Garlic Festival

This year was the 22nd anniversary of the Garlic Festival held on the 25th and 26th of September in Sauerties, New York, one of the "10 Top Coolest Small Towns in America". Sponsored by the Saugerties Kiwanis Club, some 20,000 to 30,000, so I was told, attended this fantastic  2 day garlic event, including myself.  
There were food vendors selling delicious and unique foods, craft vendors selling clothing, jewelry and souvenirs and garlic specialists to teach people about the importance of garlic. Also, some great musical acts such as Uncle Rock, the Mojo Myles Band, Jules and Rick and Mark Rust.  The troupes stage shows of  Arm-of-the-Sea Theater were there to entertain the young and
